CONFIRMATION EXPERIENCE
SPRING 2012

WEDNESDAYS 5:30-7:00pm    (during MS FUEL)

Disciple (n): one who helps spread another's teachings; (v) train to mold, correct, or perfect.

Confirmation refers to the decision a person makes to respond to publicly reaffirming his or her baptism vows in front of the congregation. Most confirmands are young people between the ages of eleven and fourteen, who have been nurtured in the church since their baptism as an infant or young child. Most churches offer a deliberate time of preparation before this service. We call this the CONFIRMATION EXPERIENCE.

Confirmation is a bi-annual, 9 week experience designed to disciple 7th and 8th grade students towards becoming a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Learning is facilitated though a combination of games, small group discussion, large group lessons, service projects, and an exciting retreat. Each confirmand will be assigned to a small group and an adult mentor. Each small group will also have one to two high school student mentors to foster Christian relationships that will continue after Confirmation concludes.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPECIFICS
Confirmation will meet in the Student Center during the regularly scheduled MS FUEL times: Wednesdays 5:30-7:00pm with FUEL CAFÉ included. This capitalizes on our current MS FUEL participation and encourages students to continue their participation in MS FUEL after Confirmation concludes.

Even though Confirmation is designed for 7th and 8th grades, our 6th grade students and visitors and guests are encouraged to still participate on Wednesday nights. They will join in the same activities and lessons as our 7th and 8th grade students, yet they will participate in their own designated CELL teams. This will serve as a pre-Confirmation Experience for our 6th grade students.

Each of us has a dream deep down inside. We have had this dream our whole lives. We can’t explain when or where it started, but we know it’s there. You know that God means for your life to be so much more than it is, but you ask yourself, “How do I get there?”

Are you too shy or think it’s not "cool" to be a Christian? Or do you simply lack confidence in what you believe or how your life will change?

Confirmation is about making the dream of living an amazing life come true. We're here to prove that with dedication, hard work and a guidance, young people just like you can have their lives transformed by Jesus Christ and live the dream God has given them.

FOREVER NOW is about starting. Begin living the rest of your life as a follower of Jesus Christ. Continue to explore every day of life as a disciple. Embark on a mission to transform your life.

Confirmation is 2 months of breaking out of your shell and finding out what you are really made of and what God can achieve through you when you’re given the tools and training. Sometimes it will be easy and sometimes it won’t. We've got big goals, inspiring leaders and plenty of the classic FUEL you know and love.

If you really want to be a Christian, then it's time to begin FOREVER NOW!
